Jim Davis attorney of J Davis Law Firm in Charleston South Carolina

Attorney Jim Davis

Jim Davis is a trial attorney. Admitted to practice law in 2000, he is a tireless, zealous, advocate for his clients. Attorney Davis prosecutes and defends complex civil claims in both state and federal court.

Jim has recovered millions of dollars for his clients in personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and construction defect cases.

Jim is driven by a simple principal “caring”, “to care” is the most important word in the English Language: you have to care about yourself, your clients, your work and your family – caring is what drives Jim.

There is no shortcut to success in winning cases – it takes intentional listening to our client’s needs and goals, meticulous legal research and analysis and exhaustive preparation to win large dollar recoveries. Framing your case to fit your core values and beliefs with your jurors core values and beliefs is how we take jurors from “lawsuits are bad” to “justice demands a large financial award” for you. We help jurors self-discover how important it is to care – whether in an injury case, medical malpractice, wrongful death or complex construction action – to care about you.

When not working, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife Susanne and their two sons, Henry and Grayson. A pilot and aviation enthusiast, Jim holds a FAA Instrument Pilot Multiengine Certificate and has logged over 1000 hours pilot-in-command in a Beach Bonanza A36 and Baron B55. Jim also holds the United States Securities and Exchange Commission Series 7, 63 and 8 securities broker’s licenses (inactive).

A Magna cum Laude graduate of Charleston School of Law, she brings her expertise and legal experience in multiple practice areas from family law to civil litigation. Kindrea’s reassuring smile and ease with clients make her as likeable as she is formidable.

Born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, Kindrea earned a Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Evansville. She relocated to Charleston in 2018 to pursue her law degree and has enjoyed the warmer weather and the friends that she has met in the Lowcountry. She can’t imagine living anywhere else.

When she’s not busy fiercely advocating for her clients, Kindrea enjoys reading and traveling. She loves all things health and fitness; the gym is her happy place. A huge Dallas Cowboys and Indiana Hoosiers fan, Kindrea never misses a game!

paralegal Kim Cochran

Meet Kim Cochran

Kim is a dedicated paralegal and works tirelessly with Jim and the firm’s law clerks and medical and engineering experts to develop the evidence needed to win in trial. Kim’s experience in injury law, medical malpractice and wrongful death is pivotal in developing your case for trial.

She is a South Carolina native and lived in the Upstate until 2008, when she moved with her family to Charleston. While finishing Furman University and continuing post-graduation, she worked as a paralegal for a large law firm in Greenville until she discovered her love for performing arts management. Kim spent the next 13 years working in marketing and public relations for performing arts organizations and especially enjoyed managing public relations for events at The Peace Center for over a decade.

Returning to the legal field felt natural when she joined the J Davis Law Firm in 2020. In her spare time, Kim enjoys mountain biking, cooking, practicing yoga and spending time with friends and family.
